Thanos Kourkopoulos studied Food Technology at the former Alexander Technological Institute of Thessaloniki, currently part of the International Hellenic University and conducted his MSc studies in the same field at Wageningen University & Research with a specialization in carbohydrate and protein analysis. In his current PhD position, his research focusses on the development and application of an effect directed strategy, combining standardized chemical analysis and in vitro bioassay methods, for the safety assessment of recycled paper and cardboard food contact materials.
