Sympathomimetic effects of pharmacologically active compounds detected in nutritional supplements
Pharmacology&Toxicology
Nicole Pinckaers studied Biomedical Sciences at Radboud University Nijmegen with a major in human toxicology. After she obtained her Master’s degree in 2018 she worked for 3 years as a research technician in the toxicology team at Wageningen Food Safety Research. Here she was involved in multiple research projects concerning in vitro toxicokinetics and immunotoxicology. In September 2021, she started as a PhD student at the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at Maastricht University. In her PhD research she studies the sympathomimetic effects of pharmacologically active compounds detected in nutritional supplements by using a combination of in vitro, in silico, ex vivo and in vivo models.
