Wisenave Arulvasan

PhD Student

Creating a robust workflow for identification of on-breath VOCs

About Info

Wisenave Arulvasan studied Biological sciences (Biochemistry & molecular biology) at University College London (UCL). After completing her Master’s degree, she worked at University of Cambridge in medical research, focusing on biomarker measurements in blood serum, DNA extraction and ELISA for 2 years, before moving to a more industry setting. In industry, she has acquired extensive experience in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation, with both urine via LC-uFAIMS-MS and breath via TD-GC-MS, including method development and untargeted feature extraction optimization. In December 2022, she started working as a PhD student in Maastricht University at the department of Pharmacology and Toxicology. Her study focuses on creating a robust workflow for identification of on-breath VOCs, whilst simultaneously developing a suite of orthogonal analytical methodologies to capture chemical diverse VOC profiles within various populations.
