Ellen Higgs graduated from Keele University in 2014 after studying Biochemistry and Forensic Science. She then enrolled in a Research Masters in Cancer Biology within the School of Medicine at the University of Dundee, where she focused on the role of TGFβ signalling in melanoma and tumour promotion. She started her PhD project entitled “Glutathione as regulator of NER-dependent repair of oxidative DNA damage under conditions of cellular oxidative stress” as a joint student between the University of Birmingham and Maastricht University in October 2016.
